The Difference Maker

I have recently been reading Put Your Dream to the Test: 10 Questions to Help You See It and Seize It by John C. Maxwell. The book gave me a deeper understanding of the difference between people who make things happen and those who watch and wonder.

Separately, William Arthur Ward’s inspirational maxim below succinctly distils the topic:

Believe while others are doubting.
Plan while others are playing.
Study while others are sleeping.
Decide while others are delaying.
Prepare while others are daydreaming.
Begin while others are procrastinating.
Work while others are wishing.
Save while others are wasting.
Listen while others are talking.
Smile while others are frowning.
Commend while others are criticizing.
Persist while others are quitting.

Both Maxwell and Ward have described the distinctions between the traits and behaviours of people who are successful in life and those who are not. By cross-referencing the two works, my learning points from each are reinforced and synthesised.
